US producer of Korea and US joint production movie ‘Julia’ which is in planning stage, ahead of casting the leading actor, has been showing interest in JDG.

The movie will depict the biography of the last heir to Korea’s empire throne Yi Gu’s wife Lady Julia (83). Lady Julia had agreed on the film production and working on the screenplay together. It’s planned to cast a US top female actor to play her role and to cast one of Korean top male actors for Yi Gu’s role.

LJ Film that produced movie ‘Maundy Thursday’, Prime Entertainment, and Focus Features a division of US Universal Pictures, are joined in investment, production and distribution.

It’s a global project with gross production cost more than 25 million dollars would be invested. According to LJ Film official, US producer that prepared the casting of Yi Gu’s role, showed interest in JDG and made inquiry about his filming schedule.

The real casting for the movie that is planned to start filming in early next year has not been conducted, but in US, JDG’s star power and acting ability are highly rated and he’s considered the 1st rank among the candidates.

Last year Focus Features was ranked 13th in sales among movie distribution companies in US.

JDG is currently in New Zealand for filming Korea-US joint production ‘Laundry Warrior’.
